Barquero

Artist book for Barquero, built around a central symbolic figure the barquero’s coin, or Charon’s obol, the ancient Greek and Roman funerary tradition of placing a coin in the mouth or over the eyes of the deceased to pay for the soul’s passage across the River Styx. The coin becomes the conceptual axis of the book, shaping the entire visual proposal around it, from the woodcuts to the 3D models.
Libro de artista para Barquero, partiendo como figura simbólica central la moneda del barquero, u óbolo de Caronte, la antigua tradición funeraria griega y romana de colocar una moneda en la boca o sobre los ojos del difunto para pagar el paso del alma a través del río Estigia. La moneda se convierte en el eje conceptual del libro, desarrollando toda la propuesta visual a su alrededor, desde las xilografías hasta los modelos 3D.
